Bringing God's grace and healing love
to people with life-disrupting problems

Foodbank
Introduction
The East Bristol Foodbank is the latest CCM project. We have
always provided food parcels to people who have somewhere to live
but still struggle to pruchase food; this now provides the
food parcel service on a more structured basis.
How a Foodbank Works
In outline, it is very simple:
- Food is donated. We receive it from many sources.
- Food is sorted and stored by volunteers, who check that it is
in date ready to be given to people in need.
- Frontline care professionals identify people in need, and
given them a foodbank voucher.
- Clients bring their voucher to the foodbank centre where it
is exchanged for three days emergency food.
- Volunteers meet clients over a cup of tea or free hot meal
and signpost people to agencies able to solve the
longer-term problem.
