Bringing God's grace and healing love
to people with life-disrupting problems

Bridgehead Church:
A Collective Poem

I would like to say thank you to you God
For all you have done in my life
    You have always been there
    And shown me your love
Whether times were good or were bad.

You are good, You are great
You have helped me be strong
In the work I am doing here
So all I can say, God, is thank you
For all you have done in my life

You have given me strength, God
    To overcome burdens
    Burdens of people and drugs
And the hard work of coping
    And still keeping going
Is better with you by my side

    In my deepest weakness
    You give me your strength
And you put me on a rock
When I call out to you
    You don’t leave me alone
But in splendour and power you come

    Your rock, strong and steadfast
    Your power gives me power
And I want to say thank you
    For all that you do.

This new year has started OK, God
And you are doing good things
I have a new flat and not just that
    There are other changes too
New plans for my treatment programme
To help me get free of the drugs
    Reducing prescriptions on methadone
    And benzo-diazepam too
This isn’t easy to do, God
And I know that you are good
But I want to ask you to help me
To really make it with you

And I want to say thank you
    To you God
For all you have done in my life
    You have always been there
    And shown me your love
And I’m learning to trust in you.
