Prayer Letter
November 2002

Praying for Crisis Centre Ministries,
its work, staff and clients
in the context of Bristol's inner city areas.

    From Trudie

Thank you so much for your prayers. Hope you will be able to make the prayer meeting on 18 November, 7.30 pm at The Crisis Centre.

I have been finding myself in something of a quandary recently. God is tremendously good to us: we identify needs and up pops a miracle. The miracle doesn't come straight away, and we do have time to panic, pray and struggle! (And there are, of course, those issues which are not yet resolved and where we would love to see a miracle.) My questions are around how we can work together with God in the miracle process and a specific example is with finance. We did not have enough money, we prayed, donations came in which covered our immediate, priority needs. Is that the end of the subject, or not, I wondered and my answer has been, perhaps not. Perhaps this is something in which we get involved alongside God. Our finances are an ongoing issue and we asked you to pray about this and our wish to involve volunteers in fund-raising as well as appoint someone to take on PR responsibility. The PR vacancy continues to exist, but we now have 3 volunteers giving their time specifically to fund-raising. This is an answer to prayer, a miracle which enables us to work with God and be part of another miracle process. Thank you for being part of this with us.

We mentioned our need for a new building in the October prayer sheet. Please continue to pray for people to be available to take on the various areas of work needed in this regard. Further information is available from Paul Hazelden.

Chris Hibbs has been working alongside us, specifically undertaking research for Clevedon Baptist Church into setting up some form of supportive accommodation for people in our client group. It is a privilege to be able to support this venture. Please pray for Chris and the others involved as they explore the way forward.

Bridgehead is doing well and it's brilliant to have the involvement of people from various churches: Jeff Cockburn, Chris Hibbs, Andy Robinson, Tony Joyce. Please pray that Bridgehead will continue to be a relevant church experience for our clients and that it will develop appropriately.

    From Sam

Thank you for your prayers. I have been offered a flat! There will be a process involved in moving in, please keep praying about this and the way forward for me.

    From Andy

      Next LITE course

The next course starts on Monday 25 November 2002. I will be interviewing prospective students on 18, 19, 21 November. Please pray that we will get the right students, who will be committed to the course, day in day out, 3 days a week for 16 weeks.

      City of Bristol College

Unfortunately the college can't continue funding the LITE course, due to the lack of numbers consistently committed to the course. There needs to be an absolute minimum of six students for the College to break even. Our contacts at the college are very supportive of what we are doing and we are still talking together to try and find a way forward.

      Thank you for praying,

      Andy Luxford

    From Jayne

We still need more volunteers so that we can open more often, and also please keep praying for funding for a new building
