Prayer Letter
August 2008
Praying for Crisis Centre Ministries,
its work, staff
and clients
in the context of Bristol's inner city areas.
Dear friends
It's very busy once again here, hot and frantic for many of the sessions, but we have had numerous good contacts and have seen positive things happening. We have much to give God thanks for; He is always faithful; always the Provider of our many needs and those of our clients. Please would you pray for the following requests:
- A young homeless man with no addictions but many emotional issues - that he can get secure accommodation and also a job. He's a qualified chef and is just about to go for a job interview. Pray for doors to open so he can have security and a future.
- A young woman who is struggling with an addiction, also her mum has cancer. Please pray that the right support becomes available for her.
- A man we have been supporting through a six month treatment is due to leave the rehab soon. Pray that he stays close to God and for purpose in his life.
- We desperately need bigger premises - pray that this will be possible, that we will see God moving in ways that we can't even imagine possible for the benefit of the clients, staff and volunteers.
- Planning permission - There has been a problem flagged up regarding our planning permission and also some complaints about the noise level from the clients. This could lead to a serious problem if not dealt with sensitively. Please pray for wisdom and for us to maintain good relations in the neighbourhood.
- Many of the other homeless agencies are closed over the summertime. This, understandably, is putting more pressure on the Crisis Centre to offer food and time to talk to people as we are one of the only ones open. Please pray for our staff and volunteers over the summer, also for God's peace to be on the clients as they come and spend time here.
Finally - we are desperately short (again) of plates and dishes. If you have any you don't use we would really appreciate having them! We are also in need of an electric tin opener, if you have one gathering dust somewhere, in very good working order, then please get in touch.
