Prayer Letter
November 2009

Praying for Crisis Centre Ministries,
its work, staff and clients
in the context of Bristol's inner city areas.

Dear friends

Prayer for Easton

You are invited to Prayer for Easton on Thursday 26 November at Stapleton Road Chapel, 7.30 pm for a 7:45 start. Please see the message below for more details - with one small (but significant!) correction: our offer for the Queen Vic has been accepted, but we have not bought it yet. There are a number of practical and legal hurdles to overcome before it becomes ours.

If you live in the area, then the joint service on Sunday 29 November should be worth attending, too: 6:30 pm at St Mark's Baptist Church.

Publicity

Alan Goddard will be speaking live on BBC Radio Bristol on Monday 16th between 7 and 8 am, talking about hostels in Bristol and the quality of the service they provide and the length of stay of some clients.

He will also be on the TV program 'Inside Out' on BBC West on Monday evening at 7:30 pm, talking about the same issues. The blurb says: "Josie d'Arby asks if enough is being done to help homeless alcoholics rebuild their lives." Obviously, this will be pre-recorded.

So please pray for Alan on Monday morning, and for the people who cut and edit the program being broadcast on Monday evening.

Two other items

Thank you for praying with and for us.

Every blessing,

Paul.

I'm forwarding you the mailing I've just sent out about Nov 26th. If you want to let CCM supporters know about the meeting then please pass it on.

Advent 2009 could be remembered as a significant season for Easton and for the churches ministry on the streets. There are two meetings coming up where we have the chance to unite and together offer our prayerful support to a plan which has the potential to transform part of Stapleton Road.

On Thursday 26th Nov we will meet at Stapleton Road Chapel which is alongside the Queen Vic pub. Crisis Centre Ministries are embarking on a bold project. Their offer for the pub has been accepted which means they will now have the space they've always wanted to extend their work with the homeless [if the sale is completed!] . The intention is to make this an evening of prayer for the task ahead and praise for what God is doing. There will be an update with the latest news from CCM. We meet at 7.30pm for 7:45 start.

Sunday 29th Nov is the next "5th Sunday" united gathering, inviting all churches in the area to worship together. This will be at St Mark's Road Baptist Church at 6:30pm and will include a focus on the Wild Goose (CCM) project too.
