Sleep Out 2017

What is the Sleep Out and why take part? 

There are currently an estimated 74 people sleeping rough on any given night in Bristol. We are committed to addressing this problem and to helping those who are subject to isolation, humiliation and rejection on a daily basis. But we can't do it alone. 

On the 24th February 2017, we are asking you to join us and hundreds of others to highlight the reality of homelessness in the city and to support Crisis Centre Ministries. Each year our organisation helps hundreds of people off the streets and feeds thousands more. We are inviting you to join the Sleep Out to raise vital funds to support the work that we do, as well as awareness of the issues that our clients face, such as homelessness and social exclusion. 

The night is not a complete homeless experience but a small insight into what it might be like without a safe place to call home, having to rely on the support of others. It will be cold, it will be memorable and it will make a difference.

This event is at Pip 'n' Jay Church from 10pm on Feb 24th to 7am on Feb 25th. You will need to bring a warm sleeping bag and lots of layers. We suggest bringing a ground sheet or some cardboard to sleep on and some waterproof sheeting as we never know what weather the night will bring!

Signing up is free and easy - simply fill out the registration form here. Please note that we are asking all of our participants to raise a minimum of £200 in sponsorship as this is a popular event and spaces are limited. By registering, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions for this event. 

Fundraising for the Sleep Out

Once you have registered, it's time to start fundraising! You can set up your fundraising page here on Everyday Hero, which is a really great way to get people to sponsor you online. You can also download a paper sponsorship form here.
