Job Opportunity: Wild Goose Drop-in Centre Assistant (temporary position)

“The Wild Goose saved my life by feeding me when I had nothing.”

– Former homeless person and recovered alcoholic.
Our Wild Goose Drop-in Centre has an immediate need for an Assistant to join its staff team on a short term basis. In order for the Drop-in to run effectively we need someone who is able to be flexible in the role, which will include helping with food preparation and other tasks in the kitchen as well as supporting our engagement with service users.
This position is short term and will be needed until the end of November 2018 at least. We may extend that further subject to our needs.
The Assistant reports to our two Deputy Managers in the Wild Goose Drop-in.
  • Salary: Ministry Support scale, from £9 per hour.
  • Part-time: 32.5 hours per week over 5 days.
The Wild Goose Drop-in Centre is the longest standing project of Crisis Centre Ministries. Through it we serve a wide cross-section of Bristol’s homeless community and those in temporary/supported accommodation. Alongside the provision of food we seek to engage with our service users and support them out of homelessness. We accept each person who comes, before we ask anything.

Crisis Centre Ministries is a Christian charity that has been working in Bristol for over 30 years. We are dedicated to helping those with life disrupting problems, such as food poverty, homelessness and addiction, to establish healthy and independent lives.

There is an Occupational Requirement for this role to be filled by a Christian. Our Statement of Faith, and our Vision and Values, are available upon request.
